Norway: could you wish more?

I never thought that I could be impressed so much by such a country. I believed it should be usual experience without any peaks or extremes. Well, it was my biggest mistake in life.

I would be lying if say that it wasn't life time experience. Because it surely was. Let me tell you the story about the country which will anyway surprise you with beauty of its nature and much more.

Norway. What did I know about this country? Literally nothing, besides that it is quite expensive and average income is approximately 3,000 EUR. Well, not actually something that can change your perception about the world. But trust me there is something that can.

"Golden" youth. If you ever watched a movie or series about teens, you thought it could not be in real life. Such a lifestyle is kind of "a dream" (sure thing, depends on what you consider the dream lifestyle). But I want to surprise you or at least it surprised me, there is a place where you can see the youth from movies. I could hardly imagine that school-leavers can drive Porshe or BMW X6 and it would be considered as normal. They are extremely rich, beautiful, self-determined and spoiled. They are free in the minds, they do not care about anything, they just have fun and enjoy the life. They have already succeeded in life, and this success was Norwegian passport. They think not about how much food costs but about why not to ask parents to buy a house or a flat for them because they are about 18 and want to have unlimited fun. That surprised me, their parents actually do buy. They cannot imagine that someone could just theoretically have an issue with money. Just before the trip I have watched a series "Skam", so I cannot help seeing the series in real life. It really shows the real life of Norwegian youth. And the way they act is actually pretty the same to the movie. I have never thought before but actually the best place to observe the real face of people is in the McDonald's at night. I could say that "drama" is the best word which describes how they act. During 2 hours they were able to start and brake down relationships a few time. They are extremely emotional and emotions drive their actions. They are friendly and open to talk. I mean they really want to get to know you, even if you just random person they met. That was surprising for me that even they are spoiled with money, they left this friendliness. Summing up, I can say that such a life a lot of people would like to have, they even can dream about it, but only Norwegian do have.

Moving to the culture and personal characteristic, here Norwegians went a bit forward as well. The communication between them is quite different. They cannot just greet you without clapping you at shoulder or tell sincere thing without hugging. All the time they have an interaction between each other. The conversation got rid of gender prejudices. They communicate equally. They same in relationships, no matter your sexual preferences, you are accepted. The typical Norwegian character surprises with every second spending with them. Hospitality with which they great you at home blows a head. They start to behave like you are actually live here and they are the guests. I believe the quote "Everyone in the world fights in the battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always" is slogan for Norwegians. They will always be extremely kind. You asked to give a lift through the tunnel but they will take you to the place you need even if it is not in the same direction. It is just a few sides of their character. I really want to learn how to be like them. They went quite ahead of the other world in that issue.

Maybe because of high welfare, maybe because historical issues, but they are spoiled. They got used to be cared about. I mean they can easily left trash, but not because they wanted to behave in bad way, but because they believe it Is okay, as there will be someone to clean. They do not see a point to something by themselves, if it could be done by someone whom they can pay.

As far as the society got rid of gender prejudice, in terms of relationships everything changed as well. In this society I can even say that women, girls act first. They try to impress a guy. Girls are more active in terms of relationships than boys.

Our modern society is driven by fashion. I am not kidding. In Norway, the reality is so. Just to look cool people choose quite not suitable for this season clothes. It was about -1 in Celsius, but people were wearing shits and leather jackets. Girls - short skits, high heeled shoes. Just to look good they sacrifice their comfort. Or maybe actually not, because as soon as they get outside, they jump into the car or taxi, so what is the need for big warm coats and boots.

With cars in Norway there is also an interesting story. Every third car is Tesla. And again because it is fashionable. People do not care about money, they need to be up to date. They want to know that they are up to trend, ahead of fashion. Another issue is "green" direction. People like to explain their choices as willingness to go green. Not really persuasive, because they even cannot explain it.

Have you ever heard Norwegian? I would say this language is amazing. It is full of emotions but not overfilled as Spanish. It is beautiful and pronunciation seems pleasant for ears. I would say that it suits Norwegians and there characters. It just sounds like it should.

I would be not fair if did not mention price level. It is extremely high. Bottle of water starts from 3.5 EUR in equivalent, not talking about the rest. Petrol is twice cheaper than water by the way.

And in the end I want to come back again to people, they are truly amazing. They know how to have fun and they do have fun. They can randomly sing out loud in the center of the street under the shining sun. Or run after each other even if you 50+ years old. They are all young inside. They are happy and they do not pretend, they live.

Just in the end I realized that said nothing about nature. And if you want to see a place to meditate or enjoy your thoughts or have romantic walk in the mountains, it is the right place. These landscapes are forever in my head.

I could say overall that Norway changes your life, changes our perceptions, your thought. It gives a new breath and opens your mind for thoughts. The people attract you as much that you want to become part of them. They are happy, they are adorable, they are crazy, they are high…do not know (and do not wanna know) on what. They are just like Norway itself…
